Pippin Auditions --May 19 & 20
Auditions for the Backlot Players summer youth show "Pippin" are
just around the corner. BOOYA (Backlot's Own Original Youth Actors) will hold auditions for "Pippin" on
Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rose Theatre (23 West Johnston St., Forsyth Courthouse Square).
"Pippin" is a hip, tongue-in-cheek musical with book by Roger Hirson and music and lyrics by Steven
Schwartz. In this show, the young prince Pippin longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment.
He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and the intrigues of power. In
the end, Pippin finds true happiness in the simple pleasures of home and family. To stage this musical,
4 males, 4 females, and a singing/dancing ensemble are needed. All rising ninth graders to college age
students are welcome and encouraged to audition. Please prepare a traditional 16 bar audition song.
An accompanist will be provided for you.
Show dates will be July 31-Aug. 2 & Aug. 8-10
